Steam-to-Steam Generators

Plant steam heated generators producing pure or clean steam for pharmaceutical, laboratory and food and beverage production applications.

BMT USA steam-to-steam generators utilize plant steam as the heating source to produce pure or clean steam with rapid heating and response times. Each generator is built to meet and exceed Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and is equipped with a 316L stainless steel shell and tube heat exchanger available in either single-tube-sheet or double-tube-sheet construction. with a wide range of custom options and capacities available, BMT USA steam-to-steam generators can be designed and built to meet your exact requirements.

Overview of Operation

The shell side of the evaporator is filled with plant steam providing heat to the evaporator tubes. The tubes are filled up to approximately 40% from the bottom with feed water. As the feed water is heated and evaporates, it travels up the tubes where additional heat removes any moisture. The steam exiting the top of the evaporator is clean, dry and saturated. Any impurities remaining in the concentrated feed water are lead to drain via a timed blow down valve.

Pure Steam

For applications that require pure steam, the generator is equipped with a steam separation device installed at the top of the evaporator. The steam separator is designed to direct the steam through a strenuous path where any impurities or remaining moisture is stripped off and lead to drain. The result is high quality pure steam that satisfies the requirements for U.S. Pharmacopoeia (USP). When condensed and tested, the pure steam will also meet Water for Injection (WFI) standards.

Chemical-free keg decontamination for beer brewers

Don't let chemicals or dirty steam be an extra ingredient in your brews

Brewers across the United States are discovering the benefits of using clean steam to decontaminate beer kegs prior to refilling. BMT USA’s plant steam heated clean steam generators can be installed directly on the refilling line for a chemical-free keg decontamination solution that doesn’t compromise the quality and taste of stored beer. The generators are designed to control the clean steam outlet pressure within +/- 2 PSIG from the user-selected set point, assuring our clients always have the proper steam temperature at their kegs throughout the decontamination process.
