Electrically Heated Steam


BMT USA’s Electric Pure and Clean Steam Generators are designed and built to cGMP guidelines and provide tight clean steam pressure control within +/- 2 PSIG of the set point. Electric steam generators can be ordered as standalone units or built directly into a BMT USA sterilizer for a fully integrated solution. The units are available in capacities ranging from 50 up to 1,000+ lbs/hr with a wide range of additional options to further enhance functionality and to comply with your local pressure codes.

    Sanitary Construction

    BMT USA’s Electric Pure and Clean Steam Generators are built with non-proprietary components and are equipped with sanitary ASME pressure vessels made from 316L stainless steel. All connections on the vessel including the heating elements are sanitary and sloped drain. Piping in contact with feed water and clean steam is 316L with sanitary components and connections. The heating elements are made from 316L stainless steel for long service life. 3-phase voltage assures fast heat up and recovery – voltages can be specified at time of order. The units are also equipped with an automatic timed blow-down system that carries any impurities to drain.

    Pure Steam

    For applications that require pure steam, the generator is equipped with a pyrogen separation device installed at the outlet of the evaporator. The pyrogen separator is designed to direct the steam in a rigorous path where any impurities or remaining moisture is stripped off and lead to drain. When condensed the Pure Steam will meet Water-for-Injection standards.

    Control System

    Each steam generator is equipped with industrial-grade Allen Bradley or Siemens PLC-based control systems. The systems utilize touch screen operator interfaces and can also be equipped with an optional secondary HMI panel for remote operation of the unit. Other optional capabilities, such as monitoring of the steam & feed water quality or pressure can also be added to the systems. In addition, a recorder can be added to provide a permanent record.

BMT USA’s electric clean steam generators can be installed directly on the refilling line for a chemical-free keg decontamination solution that doesn’t compromise the quality and taste of stored beer. The generators are designed to control the clean steam outlet pressure within +/- 2 PSIG from the user-selected set point, assuring our clients always have the proper steam temperature at their kegs throughout the decontamination process.
